At their meeting on Saturday 24th March the PCC decided unanimously to change the Sunday morning service times to:
9-10am A contemporary service with a contemplative feel, some liturgy and lots of Spirit life. This service will be band led (with occasional use of the organ). Families are really welcome at this service but there will be no children’s provision apart from a self-run crèche. Communion will be part of the service on every 2nd and 4th Sunday in the month
10-10.30am Coffee and prayer ministry for all
10.30-12noon A contemporary service with children’s & youth work and with communion approximately once a month
It has been an exciting but difficult process to come to this decision, and has taken much consultation, discussion and prayer. Many thanks for all your valuable and helpful comments. This is no easy answer, and it is hard to suit absolutely everyone but we hope, believe and trust we have heard God on this. We will be looking at practical questions like: extra seating for the 10.30 service, encouraging people to try the 9.00am and we also hope people may offer lifts to students for 10.30 (which is before the first bus). From time to time, we will also try the vibrant Overlap Service particularly when the second service is an All-Age and all the church family can be together. And on some occasions we will perhaps hire a local school so that all our congregations can be together for a big celebration. In order to help with the problem of parking for the 10.30am service, we have arranged for the use of the school’s bottom playground (Summer Lane entrance). Please use it to its capacity!
